No indication that there's a delivery delay... I wonder if that's the next shoe to fall?

Quote: @yokozuna An update from the US Mint. What changed from the previous message? I know it has extra stuff to it but it seems to convey the same message...

Sounds like they've made no progress in the last week

I think the USM was just trying to address/clarify the issue of a silver shortage. They just reissued the prior statement with the distinction of the shortage being with the supply of planchets not silver itself.

There is no silver planchet shortage for the Peace and Morgans: The planchets have already been ordered according to this Article: https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...nnual-seriesFrom the article Quote:
The Mint was able to secure 1,075,000 total planchets, for production spread among six different coins at three Mints, Ryder said. If you add up all the coins: 175,000 CC 175,000 O 175,000 D 175,000 S 175,000 P 200,000 Peace You get 1,075,000 which means they have 0 extra.

Quote: There is no silver planchet shortage for the Peace and Morgans: That seems to be in direct conflict with the Mint's own statement: Quote: The Mint is being impacted by silver blank shortages among its suppliers. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?st..._=%2As%2As-RP.S. The CoinWorld article link seems to be bad.

The lack of blanks was the excuse for not having a higher mintage so that everyone could get one. They're still holding by fixing the website as the reason for the sales delay

If they were aware that there was more demand than coins available, why in the world did they initially set the household limit at 25 and then reduce it only to 10? It defies logic.

Let's get this straight: the Mint is lying about the shortage?

Quote:Quote: There is no silver planchet shortage for the Peace and Morgans: That seems to be in direct conflict with the Mint's own statement: No it doesn't. Read the follow up email: " In more precise terms, the silver shortage being experienced by the United States Mint pertains only to the supply of silver blanks among suppliers to the U.S. Mint." and " Most recently in the pre-order window for 2021 Morgan silver dollars with Carson City privy mark (21XC) and New Orleans privy mark (21XD), the extraordinary volume of web traffic caused significant numbers of Mint customers to experience website anomalies that resulted in their inability to complete transactions." The people that work at the mint aren't very good at writing emails or having an internet sales page. Quote:The Mint is being impacted by silver blank shortages among its suppliers. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?st..._=%2As%2As-R The first paragraph has ABSOLUTLY no basis for being needed. The US Mint has ALREADY purchased all 1.075 Million Blanks. What they are doing is trying to defect blame on their Website. If you read it it just says "there is a silver blank shortage" Paragraph 2: " our website sucks and you can't order so we'll break it more so the dealers can get all the coins" Quote:P.S. The CoinWorld article link seems to be bad. Fixed

Quote: Let's get this straight: the Mint is lying about the shortage? No there is a shortage, hence why they only minted 1,075,000 Peace and Morgan dollars. https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...nnual-seriesFrom the article: "Ryder said the U.S. Mint was challenged with the 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars to secure sufficient planchets and coordinate output from three separate production facilities in three different states." BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT SECTION: " The Mint was able to secure 1,075,000 total planchets, for production spread among six different coins at three Mints, Ryder said."

I received the email from the mint. I can't believe they bring up the silver blanks. They were selling them and not shipping for 5 months. Bizarre! If they want to discuss improvements to the ordering process that is fine.

I just find it odd that suddenly now, fixing the cart app/web server is of utmost importance. Either something went wrong (oversold), or someone important is upset.
