I have 3 Egyptian one pound coin baring King Tut burial mask with some differences.
The traditional nemes head-dress of the mask has yellow horizontal stripes and a vertical stripe on the inner side on both sides of the ceremonial beard.
At the end of this vertical line there is either a "L" shape thickening on both sides, on one side or no thickening at all.
No variety is listed for this coin in my Krause.

So what is this ?

I am sorry I should have placed some arrows on the pics, but I dont have a software to do so

Hi Amr,
I took your photos of the 3 coins and composed them together. Am I pointing to the thickening correctly?
I see what you mean, and they appear to be 3 different die types. Are these the same year or different years? That's an interesting find!

I have been posting a lot of US coins with errors or varieties IMO, and with the help of all members comments and links they recommended plus reading in my books,This is my first findings regarding Egyptian coins.
I am very happy to find these varieties specially that they are not listed in Krause.

This proves that (( Education is the key to collector success ))

I would like to thank you Kurt and all members who educated me.

Amr, you're welcome--I've learned much here and am thankful to other collectors.
And you may be the first one to discover these varieties on the Pound coin?
Is it possible to get sharper photos? I would like to see that to get a better idea, and post your find to the gallery.
Thanks Amr!
