Obverse appears to be an earlier die state paired with a much later reverse die. Fields on the obverse IMO are near-spotless while the reverse shows a few contact marks. Higher devices have evident bag marks but little if any signs of wear. It is a shame for the 2 marks on the cheek, since without them it would have fantastic eye appeal. I would say ms-64, (maybe) 65 depending on who sees it. Thoughts?

Reverse is nicked up as well. I'd say MS-63 tops.

John , the 1965 Jeff's are known for very weak Monticello Buildings . That shouldn't be a factor in grading this coin . I have to agree with the frog on this one .

I'm seeing a mid-stage obverse die--beginning to show its age. Reverse is a tad softer than current PCGS-graded MS66s and better. I could go with MS62, but barely. A good hole filler.

First off you cannot have an AU grade because of a weak die strike caused by a worn die. With that said there are too many nicks in the portrait then on the reverse there is a nick cutting the third pillar. This is a "Mint State" coin but in my opinion with all that is going on with the portrait MS 60 is the best I could give.

Aside from the strike issues, MS-63.
