Here is another one of those fake Half Cents on ebay. There sure are a lot of these turning up.

Not the usuale obv seen with these, It has the commonly seen rev of C-6 from a fairly early state, but the obv is based on the C-13 die but with the date completely punched in form a completely different set of punches. The 8 and 0 are very bad, and the C-13 obv used a plain 4. Also appears to have been struck in a collar,

The date is what caught my eye. I notice there are two bids on this already. I think I will try to contact the seller and let him know it's not genuine. I would hate to see someone spend any hard earned money on this coin.


I contacted the seller. He thanked me for letting him know and removed the listing.
