I decided to buy my first roman coin to add to my collection, but I'm concerned it may not be authentic. Can anyone help?

Looks to be authentic. However, I'll let the "Big Boys" chime in.

I purchased it off ebay from a seller located in Cyprus. I havent received it yet, and was going to seek a return if it proved to be a forgery as I suspect after seeing other known examples. But, I have no experience so was appealing to the experts here. The add says "2,8gr 20mm"

For what it's worth, it appears to possibly be a double die match for this one, from Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. e-auction 420 (lot 5539). The Peus coin, below, was from the collection of a Dr. Neussel, and was acquired in November 1956 in Habelt, Berlin.

Gordianus III is a very common issue, even in high grades like yours. I particularly like the stress lines outside of the lettering where the metal flowed outward. Those are hard to cast.

I know there are ebay sellers here (I sell there on occasion) but I recommend that new ancient collectors avoid the marketplace and buy only from established sellers and auction houses that guarantee what they sell such as VCoins. Or if you must do ebay, buy from sellers who are not on Forum's Notorious Fake Seller List (https://www.forumancientcoins.com/b...pic=18502.0)
