Yes they will. Notice how blank the obverse looks?

Quote: Notice how blank the obverse looks? No... but I assuming you're talking about the missing date? Otherwise it's the same as all old Sacies.

Also the mint mark... I just don't like empty spots on coins. In my opinion, it gives the coin a "token-like" look.

I do not like that they moved the date to the edge. I understand their reasoning, I just do not like it.

So, how many people are going to think that they got a 'dateless' error coin when they get one?! Quote: jbuck:"I do not like that they moved the date to the edge." You know, they could have put a "$1" logo in the space where the date was!

I love the coins with edge letters, I found a coin in Atlanta a few month ago while metal detecting it was a 1830 5 silver franc and it had edge lettering on there from 1830 is that not wild ! Let me see if I can get this image thing to work

Now I'm confused, because I thought the date for the Pres. dollars was moving off the edge and back to the obverse?

Quote: Now I'm confused, because I thought the date for the Pres. dollars was moving off the edge and back to the obverse? It was my understanding that just the "In God We Trust" motto was being moved to the face; while the date, mint mark, and "E Pluribus Unum" motto remain on the edge.

Thanks for the better info! Still...a coin with a dated edge strikes me as odd; I cannot think of a historical precedent there. Of course, I mostly collect older coins.

well you know the st gaudens had edge lettering I like it in a since but I would rather see E pluribus unum on edge and date and mintmark where you can see it
