Dear all,

This is my first Louis Philippei coin, I would like to seek opinions if the coin is authentic. Please see photos attached:

Why are there vertical lines at the edge like the one immediately after the word "FRANCE"
The coin is 24.8g

Thanks in advance!

It looks genuine. The nominal weight is 25 g, with a bit of wear 24.8 g is within limits. The edge inscription is made with a segmented collar, and the vertical lines you see are the borders between the segments. The collar had three segments, so you should expect to see three lines at equidistant positions around the edge.

It is Louis Philippe I, by the way.

As far as I can tell, it looks like a perfectly normal well circulated coin from the era. I believe that the vertical lines were simply part of the design of the edge lettering.

Looks genuine to me. Base metal contemporary counterfeits exist, but are usually pretty crude.

Genuine.
In relation to other peer World crown sized coins of this age and condition, this coin is easily obtainable, and a reasonable purchase for a reasonable amount.

Thanks all! I learned a lot from you all. And yes, I did notice 3 lines as erafjel mentioned.
