I ran across a counter stamped 1936 Canada dollar and wondered what it is worth. It has Suzonole Reail in handwriting below the canoe and above the year. I do not know how to upload an image of this

Professional engraved,

Likely 1936 has/had a special meaning to Suzonole Reail.

If you are really curious I would start by looking up the person on ancestory.com etc.

Unfortunately being "damaged" it is really only worth bullion value.

Looks like it could be a love token either given to Suzon de Real or kept by a suitor.

I disagree. I've sold professionally engraved silver dollars before and they command decent prices. The mystery sells the coin. This is graffiti with a difference. The lettering was applied not carelessly but with care and for a reason. It won't make you rich but you should do better than bullion. And, yes, do attempt some research.

Hope you're right. Would take a very dedicated buyer to pay much of a premium for this coin.

Beautiful calligraphy, but does not add value.

There is a Suzon in Paris with a store. Could that be what I'm looking for?

Classy counterstamp, vs. a ham-handed whack.
