Small Cud Error Effect On Grading - Coin Community Forum

navycapt1635 Valued Member United States 220 Posts	Posted 10/16/2020 5:17 pm All, I assume that even small Cud errors can have an effect on a coin's grade. Some of my 1960-D pennies (as I've shown before--thinking they were lg date over sm date) have Cud errors on the "6". I have uploaded one example. Help please? Thanks. Big-Kingdom Pillar of the Community United States 1667 Posts	Posted 10/21/2020 1:14 pm I disagree. all coining errors will impede a coin from achieving a perfect grade. It may not be important at MS65 or MS66, or even afftect that grade level, but when it comes to, let's say a proof 70 with a Cud or die chip, or a MS silver eagle, the error stops it from being a 70 and holds it at a 69. I for one have never seen an attributed/notated error coin slabbed as MS or Proof 70, best I've seen is MS or Proof 69. Report this Post to the Staff
