Google. Two out of the first three results. But I'm not gonna link them here.

Once you find it, post it. As one of the last big sellouts, I'm guess it was the limit of 20,000.

Dave, I'm not seeing ACTUAL mintages...just the same 40,000 number that's been listed since day 1 by the mint. I WANT TO KNOW THE ACTUAL NUMBERS. Please link me because I don't see squat in Google...that's why I posted here.

I think the liberties of Jefferson and Andrew Jackson are the greatest coins the mint has made in the past 40 years. I think I remember just seeing 40,000 on most of the spousal coins. I know my RedBook has not mintages here is a link I found http://mintnewsblog.blogspot.com/20...intages.html

The reason you're seeing the 20k figure is because that's what got minted. They sold the full authorized mintage on the first day of issue. 20k/40k. That's it. The issues since haven't sold out, but the Jefferson did.

On the other hand, the ones that don't sell out are the ones which are likely to appreciate in the future, should demand ever exceed supply.

I was wondering, if the editions that don't sell out, get melted by the mint?

Dave, let me ask, aren't the FS coins only offered for a specific time? and then if you want one, you'd have to get it after-market? For instance SAE's, I don't think you could order, say a 2006 SAE from the mint

I don't have a good answer for that - the Mint has no information available as to whether or not they ever plan to quit selling the First Spouse issues.

I thought they HAD to make and sell them, by decree of congress. Although they don't have sell them all...they do have to make them....correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right, there - mintage is by Congressional decree. I don't know how it works for selling.
