May I ask why you assume there was a MM? Where you have circled would be the incorrect placement of the D. Best to post full obverse and reverse pics as well ( you'll get more responses).

Looks like a 1982 Philadelphia to me.

Small date, but a Philadelphia mint cent. No mintmark removed if it wasn't there in the first place.
