G'day, this link takes you to an article in the Sun-Herald (of Sydney, apparently ?), in which the author comments on recent output of R.A.M. - mostly NCLT. He also comments on recent history, as potential inspiration for the coinage of 2009. link: http://blogs.sunherald.com.au/whowe...re_mint.htmlOffered as a bit of light entertainment, by someone who doesn't collect NCLT. NCLT = Crap! I only buy it to put it away and sell it later - except for the $1; I've been bitten by them, BUT only the Mintmark series things. Not the silly stuff like the Quarantine $1...
OK, that was a minor rant...

The only thing worse than NCLT is Perth Mint NCLT! But I must admit I got sucked into that remembrance day PNC. It's a really nice coin.

Ah the PNCs that is different Perth Mint NCLT or not I purchase the PNCs they do maintain value - & look good of course we can get into the discussion about the private PNCs which have been flooding the market I'll stick to the Australia Post Ones.

It's Perth Mint NCLT, it's the wrong size (no good for self service machines - not that anyone would use this coin in one...) it's weak in the frosted lettering, but yes it's a nice design. I don't normally buy PNCs or NCLT but I had to have this one just for the coin. Must resist the temptation to take it out of the PNC and put it in an album...

I'm a sucker for any coin that honours the Australian military. It is just those gold ones are usually out of my range. Perhaps we ought to start another thread and post pictures of the coins that were done for the various branches of the military.

I like it.. the SAS PNC is officially a hit, now catalogued at $50 by Greg McDonald. It has slowly crept up there and already over 3x issue price.

I love the 2009 proof and mint sets, I bought 2 of each and now I gave one of each of the 2 coin sets away to a USA friend who is helping me buy stuff. So I'll get another couple of each :)

I have to admit the Aussie mint and proof sets are nice. On a world scale though, the price is an absolute rip off. Will be interesting to see how many they sell in the coming year.
