twood89 Valued Member United States 278 Posts	Posted 10/23/2020 9:18 pm They appear to be chalky. I had rinsed the coins off with soap and water and the green stuff on the coin we are talking about looked like chalk does when it gets wet, the color bled out a little bit. Do the little green patches on the second picture look like Bronze Disease as well? Report this Post to the Staff

Spence Moderator United States 34413 Posts	Posted 10/24/2020 07:46 am I would echo @ks's comment above, but add that these coins should be isolated from the rest of your collection and each other until you know for sure. I would consider deposits to be chalky, if when I pick at them with a wooden toothpick, I'm able to remove little bits. I'll buy the materials I need for the sodium sequicarbonate solution as well since I'll probably need it later for the worse off coins (there are several more that look exactly like coins 2 and 5 Report this Post to the Staff
