1965 Dime Catastrophic Die Damage / Shattered Die ?

Details are surprisingly crisp for the amount of metal flow. "Spike head" on obverse, multiple breaks on reverse. Three of the cracks appear to intersect somewhere along the inside edge of the oak branch / or the right side of the torch; its just incredibly difficult to get a photo of it. (Very-Late-Die-State) Thus thus very heavy die flow, device breakdown, with chips and cracks that is expect to be seen on that die state. Just a spender. The sad part of this is that it looked like that from the day it was struck. Not a keeper, but a spender. Report this Post to the Staff

I figured to be a true shattered die it needed to be more prominent with at least some degree of separation visible, or at least some depth to the crack. But I do enjoy these late die states.
