I found this penny looking through change. It has no rim and it is thinner than a reg cent. I don't know what to make of it?

@pt, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes that one is interesting. It will be hard to get a good shot, but can you please post a pic of the edge? A pic of the rev could be useful too. I suspect that someone has ground down the coin's edge, but it is hard to tell from this view. Finally, can you post the diameter? Thx.

Looks like the edge was trimmed down to put it through a soda machine trying to get a 10 cent soda for a cent. It probably didn't work as it was too thick. Some were dipped into acid to reduce the width and the thickness. Those worked.
