I'm on the fence XF-AU, But I think AU-50 sounds right. Nice clash!

I'll say AU-50 as well. The clash above the date is something I've never seen before.

Quote: What the heck IS that? It's a die clash, it's fairly common on older coins, you'll notice it's a mirrored, flipped, and incuse image of the reverse side(and vice-versa). The areas above the date translates to the banner above the eagle that reads "E Pluribus Unum"

XF45, wouldn't be surprised at XF40 either.

XF, although I wouldn't call that a "clash"... I'd call it a "crash", those dies obliterated each other. Very cool.

This piece has had much of it's patina removed. Still market acceptable for problem-free it likely garnered an XF45 grade. The die clash is cool but the surfaces are not to my liking, too sterile and lifeless.
