The resolution may be due to the video of the image, it is not a still like a stereoscope. I have the one in this pic as my first scope, and the res on photos is difficult at higher mag, I think this one is 250X max? Check out DinoLite, or AmScope--have scopes under 200, but then you need a high MP digital camera compatibility, and those are $$$.
When I used scope like that I had to place it farther from the coin. Only if I put a couple thick books under the scope's stand to increase the distance was I able to get the whole coin in the image.
If you can find a microscope with glass lens then they will give you a lot better images. I prefer an infinite zoom scope. Fixed power two lens scopes only give you two choices with the two/three lens. With the zoom scope, you can go in between and get the images you really want. I use an older style scope. It is a 3.5-35X scope. 10X lens. When you get the cheaper scopes with the plastic lens, the images always look pink, and there is a real loss of clarity on the images with them. Editing software can adjust the color, the the sharpness is the big loss on them.
