Does anyone have any idea why the us mint has chosen the bat for a coin.
I have a 25 cent bat 2020 coin.
I just wanted to know what the mint may be thinking.

Because the Samoan Fruit Bat is native to American Samoa and thus a coin celebrating the territory includes it?

The design was being considered as early as July 2018 and was chosen in August 2019, if you were thinking it was in any way connected to COVID.

It's not true but I prefer to think it is a nod to Adam West (Batman)
