Hello everyone. Well as promised, I'm learning much. However, that said, I've come across something that is a bit puzzling, and ask that anyone who wishes to chime-in, please do so...Attached are the obverse and reverse images (cropped well, thank you) that contain what look like to be the infamous DD-Obverse (especially looking at the year), the Reverse close "AM", but what intrigues me the most is that the Obverse looks to have a period or dot (much like the Reverse does) between T & RUST, giving it a "T.RUST" appearance. I have cleaned the coin, taken more photos, cleaned again, taken more photos, and yet this in still present. Does anyone have any idea what the heck this is, or any of the other observations. Thank you in advance for your kind and generous opinions and thoughts. ~ jake

First never clean coins. It doesn't look like a DDO to me,DDD.
The dot is probably a plating issue.

Normal cent, the 5 is DDD. The "dot" is either a die chip or plating bubble. It's a spender.

NEVER clean coins - except under VERY specific conditions!

Perhaps?...these are not something that I have come across, nor discovered in the online searches. Something to look into more I suppose, and I thank you. But, what of the other typical 1995-Lincoln-Penny-DD-OBV indications?.....do they seem to be accurate? Seem to be to me, but again as a novice learning more and more as we go (each day!), I appreciate the feedback of you and other folks who wish to engage.

John1, just saw your message come in, got he message, DON'T CLEAN THE COINS...I just wanted to make sure it wasn't some odd speck of dirt or debris....but of course it wasn't, and I won't do that again. So, if it's not one of those DDO/DDD, what causes the double date look? oh....and the "AM" on the reverse?

always learning more....if it's a plating issue, is that a typical type of problem seen often?

Doesn't it just "strike" you odd in the way it lines up to the font and placement?

Do I mark it a certain way, is it worth keeping with the issue/error?

This is just so odd from the limited things I've already seen and studied.

Thoughts?

The 5 in the date is similar to the famous poor man's doubled die. Only a MD on the date and similar with Lincoln's face.
The dot after the T is there laving it as rust to remind people that our money is slowly rusting away.

1995 NM? Perhaps " no mint mark" you mean? If it doesn't have a mint mark, then it's from Philadelphia. I believe it was only the 2017 cent that had a P on it. Anyway, as suggested by very credible people of the forum- just a spender. But keep looking and always ask questions. You are certainly in the right place for great information.
