I think I recall letter edge Presidential dollar coins here in the U.S. that come with position A and position B lettering. Not an error it is just random. John1
I would assume that these are struck like the British £2 coin - the milling and edge inscription goes onto the blanks, which are then fed by hoppers between the dies. So the position of the edge lettering in relation to the obverse and reverse designs is completely random.
