I have a 1976 Penny Close AM. Those years should wide

Well it can't be a Close AM struck by the mint, as the Close AM didn't happen until 1993. (Some die happen in 1992 though) If it is a Close AM, someone added the reverse from a zinc cent onto a copper planchet pbverse coin.

1976-Lincoln-Penny-Close-AM
Keep in mind it is not the space between the 'AM' that makes it a close or Wide AM. It the the spacing of the AME. On the Close AM, the AM.E shows a space to the right of the 'M'. On the Wide AM, The 'M' is centered between the devices A.M.E. When you look again at your coin, then you will the the 'M' will be centered on your coin.
