with T-BOP. I see more than one thing wrong on that reverse. A specific example is the slant topped T's in "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." Those should be just as squared up and blocky as the capital letters in this message.

Question for members who know more than I: But why would someone go to the trouble of counterfeiting a 1929 US cent? That seems like a lot of work for a coin which isn't worth a whole lot in a circulated grade.

For sissy0444: Is that the same coin in both pictures? Maybe I am looking at it wrong, but the reverse photo seems to be of a coin in a holder, and the picture of the obverse is of a coin not in a holder? Or is that just glare?

Even if this coin was/is ligit, it is nothing unusual about it for not having a mintmark. No mintmark means the coin was struck at Philadelphia Mint.
Following are Three Mint locations where this coin was struck:
1929 (Philadelphia) also referred to as 1929-P
1929-S (San Francisco)
1929-D (Denver)
