I know the first one is French, the second is of a pope so probably Vatican City? Both appear to be silver, the French weighs 13.4 grams and the other weights 14.8 grams.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

G'day, first is a military medal: you can see at the top where the suspender has broken.
if you go to a well-known auction site, and look at item No. 220322282375, you'll see one, complete with riband.

The second medal bears the image of John XXIII, which dates it to his installation in 1958 or later.

The second medal refers to the Second Ecumenical Council (see "CONC OECUM VAT II") which began in 1962 (see "MCMLXII"). Apparently it was issued to commemorate the Vatican II opening. As for the motto on the other side, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_M...f_the_Church
