Thank you for posting specimens from your counterfeit collection. Even on the ones I might have spotted on my own, I like to review your "authenticated" counterfeits. I appreciate these posts.
I ran across one of these altered date types in a partial
Lincoln Cent collection that I had considered bidding on a couple months ago. I asked for better photos of the 1914-D from the auction company, and even my rather ignorant self became suspicious because of the spacing between the two middle digits. But, the forger did try to hide their work in a rather ham handed way: they had polished it down to a low grade, practically obliterating the 19 in the process, and added some dark grunge in the low spots of the coin to possibly mask the VDB. Sadly, the bids on that set went high enough to indicate that at least two other folks were fooled. So, while your two coins might be "one look fakes" to some, there are others who really need to see what you post! Please keep sharing!
