Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone.

I'm a long time amateur collector who has never really connected with the community before but am now looking to learn more about the hobby I've called home for decades.

I'm sure this is a simple answer for long time collectors but what is this circular line--spaced at different radii from the center of the Washington face? Bank processing machine? Vending machine?

Thanks!

Yes, this is damage from a Coin Wrapping Machine. The coin was on the end of the roll when it was crimped. The jaw or blade that folds the paper made contact with the coin and etched the line into the surface as it turned. Lots of these pop up!
