I would say my best find has been 3 1917 cents in a one week span all from different banks in 2 different states!

my best finds in Canada have been the 1925D & the 1943 Steel. I however have taken a break from cents in these last few weeks and have turned my attention to nickels & quarters.

Jim1953, I saw your post a few pages back about the 1974 cents. My last two boxes had about 3-4 of them...very brilliant and spotless. No other date has shown up like that, so I, too, wonder "why".
Two boxes of pennies yielded....
Wheats: 30, 45, 46, 46S, 48, 52D(3), 53D(2), 55D(2), 56D(2), 57, 57D(2), 58
2009 issues:

ive found a penny with a state stamed in it. forgot which. decent amount of coppers. some average wheats, nothin to write home about and a few um, errors doube dies, not sure the classification or terms. gotta figure a way to get a pic up in the error section. to small to see with camara. dying to find a WAM or CAM. |

This 1974 phenomenon keeps coming. In the last 3 boxes I have found 11 more bright red BU 1974 cents. No other date in that condition but that. I have gotten these boxes from three different banks, M&T, BB&T and PNC over about a 10 day period. They don't all order coins at the same time and share a load. I think this dispels any notion about someone dumping a bunch. I could be wrong but I have my suspicions.

15 rolls into a box this morning and I thought I'd share a pic of a nice 6-pack of BU coins 35+ years old. I've also found my first 3 2010 pennies in rolls today.  |

From that box I ended up with nearly a roll of BU cents from 1961-1977.
I also found eight 2010 Shield cents, a couple of them looked horrible already.
Only 7 wheats, 1939, 1942, 1944D, 1945, 1950D, 1956 and 1958D.
Eight Canadians, including one that isn't specifically dated, but says 1967-1992 on the back?

Hi, First post here. Really enjoyed reading this whole thread. I just started roll searching again in March. I used to do this as a kid with my dad in the 70's. Definitely found more wheats then. My son just turned 6 and has taken a big interest in wheat pennies so he loves searching rolls with me. I'll post some of my finds later but do want to share what happened to me on Wednesday.
I went to one of my banks and got $10 worth of pennies. I asked for hand rolled coins because mys son has a hard time opening the machine rolled ones. Anyway, they did have some for us and this was around lunch time. I finally started to crack one open at 4pm and to my surprise it was in a Wells Fargo wrapper and both end coins were BU 1980 coins. Wow was my first thought then omg after I realized all 20 rolls were the same BU 1980 rolls! What's the odds? It gets better. I called my wife who was on her way home at 4:45 and asked her to stop at the same bank to see if there were more. She stopped and ask for Wells Fargo wrapped rolls and sure enough there was another $9.50. Must have been a $25 box. Pretty cool stuff except my son was disappointed because there were no wheat pennies!
Sorry for such a long opening story.

hemisboats.. i found a LMC 77 with the exact counterstrike!! also, my last box, I have found almost 1 roll of bu 79-d and 80-p! what gives?! |

Welcome back to the addiction, Donnie. Great find if I understand correctly? Are you saying that all 20 rolls were 1980 LMC in BU condition? And, if so, do you want to sell one of them? Jim |

To celebrate Canada's 125th Anniversary of Confederation, all coins have the date 1867-1992. The coin you have is technically dated 1992. These however except the loonie which had a low mintage are not rare.
