Is that just 4 wheaties for the whole bag Mainman? That would put it at 2 for a box beating my worst box of just 3 wheaties. Also that sure is cool with the '88.

oldcoach....yes that was just 4 wheaties in $50...but I had about $5 unfinished when I posted and found 2 more wheaties...a 51 and 55-d. But there was also a 2000 WAM. I was disapointed when I noticed the copper was missing but overall the bag turned out pretty good anyway. |

Totally cool catching that WAM, I have yet to find one. Just now figuring out exactly what to look for though. Also looks like 3 is the bottom end for wheaties from a box on average. My normal is around 7-8 a box. Would love to get one in the twenties much less like a couple folks in the 200's,that has to be totally cool to do. |

Got one thing to say for roll searching...it has become an obsession...I just can't find enough pennies to keep me happy.

Got it but not to happy with it right now, will sit down tonight and see if I can figure out how to get an image of what I am actually seeing and not colored from reflections and such.
Found more 3 S'MM while doing final sorting last night so that is 11 for this last box, by far my best haul.

Oh, man you must of posted that while I was typing in that last reply Mineman, yea I know what you mean about trying to keep enough coins around to sort through, why I have an extra box hiding in the closet, just waiting on when I can't get to the bank.

mypvlad...an RDV-006 is a 1988 cent with the reverse of 1989..do a search on here or google and I'm sure you'll find some pics.
oldcoach...I've gotten in touch with a high school girl that is collecting pennies for breast cancer as her senior project...she has agreed to swap her unsearched for my searched...can't wait !

How many Canadian coins do you normally get per box of cents up there?

Just got done wih a pretty good box. Found a record 14 wheat cents! All common 40s and 50s except for two 1939P's and an ugly, worn-to-the-bone, verdigris'd 1928.  (I know the 20s were generally weakly struck, but why is it that every cent I find from that decade is like this?) A record 7 Canadians as well! (this is Texas after all) Found my first 1952-2002 among these. Four nice BU coppers (1963, 1976, 1980, and 1974) the '63 had a big fingerprint on the back though.  512 copper pennies altogether. Although about 40 of those had verdigris on them from being squished up next to a badly dieseased Zincoln for god knows how long. So into the cull pile they went. Still looking for my first IHC.  |

from what they tell me on here is that because the cent was worth a cent, the 20's had them being used a lot. and with the great depression and market crash of 1929. some of the reasons I heard. may not be exactly why, but it makes you wonder where that penny has been.

found a new use for some extra pennies...
I had some ready to go back to the bank - but the potted christmas trees outside kept falling over. Not being one to want to mess with concrete, I put about $60 of pennies in ziploc bags in each one, now they don't fall over in the wind. Sure I guess someone could steal the pennies, but I'm willing to take my chances.

Pulled this one out of a bank roll a little bit ago. I can hardly believe it came out of a bank roll in this condition. It was an end coin too! I bout fell out of my chair!   |
