On another note from my recent $50 bag search, I ended up with 30 copper canadian cents. They went from 1939 to 1993. It had 7 George VI's in there. That's the most I've ever got at one time. It had 2 1939's, a 1944, and 4 1947's. Also, had 8 of the Hot young queen...a 1955, 1962,2 1963's, and 4 1964's! A BU 1972 was in there and a very nice and shiny Rock Dove, too!

Did another $25 dollar box today..

Another 13 Wheaties (funny exact # as the last box)
5 Canadians
1 Polish - 5 Groszy

I don't really look for errors as I am not that educated on them. I come across the occasional MAD although from what I understand they don't carry a premium unless it is a severe one. I am pulling quite a few BU 70's and 60's which is pretty neat.

OK...just finished seperating the copper, wheats, and canadians from this $50 bag. Awesome copper numbers. Had 1952 regular coppers...1959 to 1981. Add another 383 copper 82's, 25 wheats, and those 30 canadian coppers and it's a total of....2445 copper pennies. 48.9%!

northwestseeker, my theory on the 55-S is that they were hoarded due to that being the last S mint ...until 68, but people didn't know that, just that they were not going to have S mints anymore. I've even found two BU examples while roll searching.

Newcomer here to this thread feeling like I am imposing on a private family party.

That said ... I asked the teller tonight for 2 rolls of cents to go along with my normal $40 in nickels ... yep ... that's right ... $1 in USA cents.

Soooo ... reading this thread and research on my part causes me to think of expanding my roll-searches beyond nickels ... so I started today with 2 rolls of cents!

Results ... 23 copper in 100 coins with one of them being a 1944.

My first ever roll-found Wheatie!

I might come to enjoy cent roll searching ... but no promises that I will be back anytime soon. Still need to finish my roll-found Jefferson set.
