Yes on the 97...shoulda made a new thread so the newbs could guess. But the story is funny...when I first heard of WAM's last October, I started roll searching. The first ones I searched were rolled back up and I put them in a closet and forgot about them.Of course when I saw them I thought about how fast I was looking so now I'm going back through and this pops up on the third roll. That's a pretty major doubled die to miss when you've been collecting for 40+ years.

Reckon it should of been a new thread but I sure ain't complaining, as I enjoy stuff like that and somehow it makes it stick in this old noggin of mine. I been slowly but surely making my way through the stuff I got when I started collecting and didn't know a thing about varieties. Real close to having 2 full boxes to look through of 60's and 70's stuff. Plus another 2 boxes of BU's from 80's to present.

oldcoach,I've got a few others I want to post that are similar to this in that they are unique varieties.I think it will be fun and it will give a focal point for those new to varieties. For example, once I got my first 2004 DDR in hand, I found two more within a few weeks because I knew where to focus. Hope you have fun with your boxes..I just picked up another $50 from my bank

Going through a box right now. First 7 rolls - nothing. Roll #8: 1921, 1934, 1941, 1942 all in one roll. Go figure!

Just pulled 75 wheaties from a box, new record for me, nothing notable, mostly common dates. Also had a few BU's, an '86, two '64's, and a '62-D. Oh, and my second '98 WAM.

I am getting discourged about searching penny rolls, just went 40 rolls, NO WAM's, BAM'S or thank you ma'am's; all I found were 3 common wheat dates (all out of the same roll), 2 Canadians (76 and a 83)and many of the ugliest grungiest looking spotted coins I have ever seen along with some so corroded they could bearly be identified! (and some had been run over in a parking lot by a herd of 18 wheelers! Interestingly I did run across a large number of 82'D reds, but they all had at least one black spot on them. going back to searching half-dollar rolls, the pay off seems better.

Cents take work, but you'll always find keepers... I don't do them for cost efficiency, I do them because halves are hard as heck to find around here and copper is probably gonna keep going up...

Gothic: Yeah I live in San diego, so I get a lot of s mints. I also get about 30 to 35 s mints on average per box of the 1968-1974 as well.
