Yeah trent, I do know what you mean about the junk pile...lincolns are famous for hits on the ear too...don't know how much time I spent looking over those.Once you find a couple real ones you'll go "wow, they do jump out at you"...but it is good to closely examine the other stuff just so you get familiar with it.

penny man- no that 1908 is plain, sorry LOL.
Maineman750- not sure why they are not showing. penny man can see them because he knew there was a 1908 in there and I didn't mention it in the post.

I'm very happy to see people finding IHC's , they are tough to show up in bank rolls . Only found 2 in more then 100 boxes searched ! Today I got only 16 rolls just for the faith and only found 2 LWC's but also found one more 1998wam that completed my 1st full roll of WAM's ! I think in couple more years the 1998 and 2000wam's won't worth more then a cent because there is just too many of these around !

I don't see the 98 and 00. WAM s dropping all the way to face value. Seems that they were VERY regionally distributed. NY, NJ and Penn. Seem to be hotbeds. They certainly are not as rare as the 99's but I believe they will carry a premium.

My last two boxes only gave me 10 wheats combined. 8 from the 50's and 2 from the 40's. not very exciting.

Wiley,
That looks like someone used a sheet metal break on the thing. They can shear lite gauge sheet metal but would have trouble with a penny I would think.

Where are you guys located that find these Indian Head cents? I've certainly never found through many years of searching.

Mid-michigan! Though mine were customer wrapped, so location doesn't really matter.. Actually, I don't think location matters at all. It's just people spending collections, and the luck f the draw in finding them It could happen anywhere.. Unless people from poor-ish states like Michigan, Ohio, are more likely to dump collections for money.. Hmm..

It's all luck for finding IH's. And volume! The more you look at, the better your chances of finding odd stuff!

I've only found 3 IHC's in $2,500 worth of pennies searched in the last 6 months...like Hoosier, I think volume and luck play the biggest part.

I've had five in the last year and I search both customer and bank rolled. I agree with the others about luck. You can increase your luck by searching more rolls.
