1944 is probably the most common wheat to find when roll searching, but this is a real nice one.

I just yesterday got in the three boxes of EAST coast pennies I purchased from a forum member in NY! (had them shipped to San Diego to get more high quality"Philly" coins). I went through one of the 3 boxes yesterday.

Out of 2500 coins - got 735 coppers (includes wheats, and Canadian coppers)! 735 divided by 2500 = 29.4%. I also got 46 wheats from 2500 coins = 1.84% ! In San Diego the figures for coppers are about 18.4% for coppers and .43% for wheats... I also am finding LOTS of "P" mint coins that are vast improvements to the worn out Philly coins that normally show up on the west coast.

But the biggest find so far - (drumroll please)... a 1998 WAM !! .
Now I know to you East coast roll searchers this is no big deal - but in these parts a WAM, any kind of WAM is a big deal!

So the first box has been a big success. I will definitely be looking to purchase more East coast Lincoln cents in the future!

Will report the results of the other two boxes - when I have finished searching them!

1998 WAM is cool even for east coasters IMO. I have found 4 2000 WAM but no 1998 yet. Congrats! ($800 searched)

Just pulled a 1910 Wheat in G. Oldest wheat to date for me.

Also noticed a low D on a 1984 LMC. Definitely located further down than the rest. Will post pictures later tonight.

Posted the 1984 low/mid/left D varieties that I noticed in the modern coin variety section.

Did not count the copper versus zincsters.

To say this was an impressive box, is an understatement. Have taken a 20 year break from roll searching (I know...stupid me), but have never found anything in the 20's, just seems to always escape me and my luck. Today, was a little different. The last 25 roll box yielded 86 Wheats of the following:
1910
191? (believe it is a 1912 in AG)
1919 - 2
1924
1925
1935 - 2
1935 D
1937 - 3
1937 S
1939 - 4
1940 - 3
1940 D -2
1940 S
1941 - 2
1941 D
1942
1942 D - 3
1944 - 4
1944 D - 4
1944 S - 2
1945 - 3
1945 S
1946 D - 4
1947 D - 2
1947 S
1948 D
1949 D
1950
1950 D - 2
1951 D - 3
1951 S
1952 D - 3
1953 D - 6
1955 D - 3
1956
1956 D - 3
1957 D - 3
1958 D - 7

Acloco and Lizzyjo - nice finds! I searched 2 rolls this am while waiting for my shift to begin. Found a 1924'P in G condition and a couple of common 50's wheaties. The 24' fills a hole in my daughter's folder. Will post if I find something else good.

Hello roll searchers. New here at CCF. I don"t have a coin find but a funny find. I opened a roll of cents the other day and ever other coin in the penny roll was a dime. So I increased my coin searching profit by $2.40. You never know what you will find do ya? Why someone would do this is crazy. Mostly 70 to 90s cents nothing special.

anyone here open a roll while roll searching (usually the CWRs), and all 50 pennies come out dirty, grimy and dusty with gunk on them and who knows what, and none of them are keepers? I get practically afraid to touch them in the fear that I might get a disease or something. I hate it when I come across rolls like that. Anyone find rolls like these?
