I did a box of pennies yesterday for a change of pace, and was quite pleased with what I got.
8 wheats: (2) 1938, 1944, 1948D, 1950, 1951, 1951D, 1953
4 canadians: 1976, 1981, 1997, and a 2004 that is not attracted to magnets. (I thought these were supposed to be steel?)

Hi, I'm new here though I've been following this particular forum for quite awhile. I'd like to post some of my interesting finds. - 5 dimes in one roll -04 Bahamma star fish -01 LMC with a large die crack from left side of penny going into Lincolns head - oldest find 1916 LWC - 2nd oldest 1919-s -one I've never seen posted on here,a 25 cent piece from India, it has a three headed lion on front and PAISE,25 and the year 1986 on back - a couple of King George canadians - a two tailed wheat back penny Of course I've found sveral wheat backs and canadians and AU coins of several years but these were some that you just dont see everyday!

Sometimes dedication pays off... My current box of customer rolled LMC's sucked. It was pretty much the worst box I've ever gone through. - 45 of the 50 rolls were taped shut which sucks. - Every single roll contained crap (even the untaped ones). Sometimes more than half the roll was destroyed verdigris covered coins that even if were rare I wouldn't keep. Most rolls contained 15-20 coins I'd toss into the 'junk' pile immediately from each roll. Normally it's only 1-5 per roll for me. - After going through these I then find that it also doesn't contain any Wheats or Canadian both of which I save. Obviously this box was picked through. Why I searched the whole box is beyond me. The only thing going for me was a slightly higher than normal percentage of 'chocolate' pre-1982's. - After sorting the box by Year/MM piles I save any AU or better quality coins to work on rolls of nice coins. Usually for the year 2000 I'll have a stack of like 2-3 very nice ones and then 75-100 ones I'll dump after checking for WAM's. A lot of time when WAM checking I'll get lazy and only check the big 75-100 stack but forgetting to check the 2-3 'nice' coins due to laziness. For some reason this time after stashing away the 2-3 nice coins I went back to take a look. When I did I found wonderful 2000 WAM; my first. Also it's in wonderful condition. At least MS60 but I'm thinking it could be graded in the mid-60's. Even though I found it in circulation, it doesn't look like it. Oh, and I found 11 AU 2011 cents in a roll. Those were my first 2011 coins. Anyway, my point is that I almost dumped this box after only 5 rolls but instead continued on and lucked out. Finding one perfect WAM in a box of crap is much better than no WAM in a box of quality coins which I'll still dump. [sorry no pics, camera dead]

yeah trent..even though somebody amy have searched a box, that doesn't mean they searched for the same stuff you did...keep in mind there are plenty of collectors that never heard of a WAM or an RDV-006,etc

mainman my opinion is that probably 94% of collectors have herd of a WAM around 4% of the leftover 6% are new to collecting 1% are mild collectors that dont go to shows or anything and only collect one type of coin usualy newer coins that you see every day in change(ex. State Quarters, the newer nickles, biecentennials) and the last 1% are collectors that somehow have just never herd of it but it would be hard to be a collector that hasn't herd of it because its in the Red Book and its in every coin magazine that I have looked at except coinage
