OMG... reading this thread has changed by life! I started at the beginning, the first of this thread dated in 2008... I made it through the first 30 pages this week, reading when I could, and now I'm hooked! All the posters here feel like old friends! I went into my bank this afternoon and bought my first box! I haven't broken into it yet... I gotta get myself organised! My box is a Brink's box... do the numbers stamped into the sealing paper tape mean anything? Mine says "2011 FD (or ED?)" then under that it says "JUN 07" I just hope its not a whole box of 2011 pennies. I will report my findings... wish me luck! -Les

I went through a String and Son box and got two 1943d steel wheat cents! One was even an ender.

An ender is one you can see on the end of a roll.

OK, I opened my first box, grabbed a roll (plastic wrapped), broke it open, and here is the very first "coin" I examined... Any ideas? I can't even tell if it is a Lincoln or not! Is this a sign of some sort? -Les

Still working on the first few rolls of this, my first box... two wheaties found so far, a 1951D and a 19?S mystery coin. Here they are: Is there anything I can do to try to bring out the date? the 19 can be clearly seen, as well as the S below it, but try as I might, I can't see the end of the date. Any suggestions? -Les

That first "coin" made me laugh Merclover. That is some serious road kill. I just found a 1926s in a roll. This is the lowest mintage cent that I have found in a roll at only 4.55 million and being 85 years old I am stunned.
