This link may or may not help you with this particular coin, but at least it's an excellent resource for you to keep for future reference.  |

Merclover, thanks for the link. I'll look at that. I'll take more pictures. I'm trying to get as close and clear as possible, I guess my camera isn't as great as some on the site. The columns appear normal, it's just with the lettering. I have a 10x loupe that I saw it with. I'll put some additional pictures in a while to see if that gives you more info. Thanks again.

Merclover. These are 2 additional showing the columns and another angle of the "America" DD. I don't see the difference which is in the link picture you sent before. Just the DD on the lettering at the top of the coin. Any other thoughts? I have been searching and cannot find this DD anywhere else for a 1994.   |

grancap74, I am sure there are others here who will correct me if I'm wrong. but I believe what your 1994 cent represents is known as Machine Doubling, not a true double die error, and I don't know if it commands a premium value or not. Sorry I couldn't help you more. |

Merclover, Thank you for the info. I'm new and didn't really know about Machine Doubling. I've read some and that may be it since I see no error in "United" just extending to "States of America". I guess I was too exicted after looking through about 60 rolls today. It wasn't a total loss, found 2 1943 steels, and a good 69 s. I'll keep looking. Thanks again for the response. |

Merclover, other than the obvious errors and key dates, do you keep copper cents prior to 81? Just curious. I've read on here where some are, I decided to do the same in hopes for some increase in the future.

I keep all wheaties and all "S" mint pennies (I am in Ohio, and "S" mintmarks aren't very common), and I keep anything that is Choice BU condition, even recent dates. I figure it doesn't hurt to squirrel them away (I keep them by date in plastic roll holders). BadThad and others here have pointed out that the zinc cents don't hold up in circulation well at all, and BU examples may be very sought after someday. Besides trying to collect a set of Lincolns, I set aside all 1960 cents for sorting large and small cents later, and all 1982 cents for sorting later (7 different varieties!) and I keep all copper. I look hard for WAMs and CAMs I only have found one WAM, a 2000), and any obvious doubling or errors. I think I end up keeping nearly half of what I sort through, between copper and Choice BUs (and I am really picky on the BUs I keep), so I may not be the best example of a roll searcher, but I figure I can afford to hold some back now, so why not? I can always throw them back later!  |

Got my first box from the bank yesterday, went through alot of it last night, man you hands can get dirty! I've gone through pretty much 75% of the box already and here's what I've found so far:
1949-s
1953-d
1955
1956-d
1958-d (x2)
1960 (Filler)
1962 (Filler)
1969-S (Filler)
1971-S (Filler)
Now in my album from 1959-2009 I need to still find
1968-s
1973-s
1982-s
But it has been fun being able to fill up my album with this first box of rolls! Hopefully I'm able to finish my album with this kind of pace really quick!

2 boxes this weekend. Found among 10 other common wheats, a 1940D (hole filler), 1926, and 1934.
Some nice BU Zincs on top of that, and that's about all.

blindacideye, that 1982-S you say you still need was a proof only release, so finding it in circulation might be more of a challenge. Not impossible mind you, but very much a challenge. |

Fate never ceases to amaze me. Just recently there was a posting talking about what could be found in rolls, of which it was said it was nearly impossible to find a 55S in circulation and POOF, hear we have one, and in great shape too |
