This weeks box...
26.2% copper
15 wheat 17,35,44,44s,46d,51,51d,53dx4,57,58dx3
5 canadian
This 1960 is way cooler in hand, but this "electric" toning just doesn't show in pics

ok after lurking in these forums for several weeks, I decided to finally quit being lazy and register : ) I used to collect coins over 20 years ago (along with sports cards and comics). I pretty much sold all my coins long ago so now I will be starting from scratch. The good news is I am in a much better financial situation than I was 20 years ago HA !

anyways after reading the penny roll posts for the last 200 pages I went and got 2 boxes of pennies and 1 box of nickels. The first box of pennies yielded 4 wheats. I remember thinking ( Man what's the big deal? kinda lame )..... so the next day I decide to search the 2nd box -- the 3rd roll had 7 wheaties ! 5 rolls in I had found 20 wheaties ! and by the time I was done that box gave up 54 wheaties! not only that but one of the wheaties was a 1909 -- I took my time on checking for a mint mark and then looking on the reverse for vdb : ) I milked the feeling for all the excitement I could but in the end it was just a regular 1909. It doesn't end there, There was also an IHC ! 1900 pretty rough shape but hey I was stoked haha ! I do believe I just got addicted : )

I do not know how to do photos or any of that yet -- some of the wheaties were fairly early 1909, 1919, 1925 a couple in the 30's I think --- and I still have a nickel box to search -- but the pennies--That was FUN FUN !

tealc! And what a fantastic box! I've only done 39 boxes, but the most wheats I have found in a single box was 17, and that is more than double what I usually find. And it took me 37 boxes to get my first indian. Keep searching, it's super fun!

In the Brinks boxes at local banks here I've been averaging about 1 wheat per roll. Now I'm trying another rolling company, st let's see how they do for 2 boxes.

I have gone through many boxes that I have gotten in Mississippi and I was only getting like 4-5 wheaties per roll. I went to Indiana for Thanksgiving and I got 2 boxes and have been finding about 1 every 2 rolls. I also found the oldest Wheat cent since I started hunting 1929P.

I don't think it has anything to due with the rolling company, but rather, it's your location. It's not like Brinks is removing wheat pennies or copper from the rolls, but perhaps someone in your area is (i.e. a copper hoarders). I get Brinks boxes here in central Ohio, and I'd say I average 3 or 4 wheats per roll and about 35% copper. Over time wheats will deminish even more, as will copper. Get them while you can!

Thx for the warm welcome : ) I went back to the bank to see if they had any more available penny boxes --sadly they did not --- I am almost afraid of what my next box will yield LOL. Is it still possible to find BU rolls of the 2009's in the bank vaults?
