Hey guys! I've been lurking for a while and have been going through the whole thread. I am new to coin searching. For the last couple years I've been snagging wheaties out of the till at work for my girlfriend's album and have found some cool things for her in the past (some foreigns, a magicians nickel, and an 1893 IHC), but for the first time I am taking up an interest of my own. I'm still working on what to look for (using a lot of the resources recommended here) and how to organize my findings (not much of a system in place just yet).

I've gone through maybe 15 total rolls so far as long as my old penny jar and my parent's penny jars as well. I've gotten a slew of random wheaties and a few nice BUs, but no WAMS or CAMS yet, and no notable doubled dies but I am still learning what to look for in them.

I went through 5 rolls tonight and it was mostly disappointing. Some really gnarly looking zincolns and about 17% copper. No wheaties. Nothing too sharp looking. Two 1972s mints in pretty worn shape.

But, at work earlier, I did rescue a 1916 wheatie from our till! It's my oldest one in my own collection by a year. It's not in great shape, but I was happy to rescue it from circulation and give it a new home away from grubby fingers and pockets full of change.

I don't have a camera capable of capturing much of anything at this point. I would like to pick up a USB microscope for that purpose.

Well, that's my spiel! I'm in the middle of moving so I probably won't be searching much, but I'll be following everyone else's progress.

Cheers,

Ben

Nothing too spectacular, but found a Euro-cent and 2 Euro-cent in the same penny roll today. Can't recall ever finding two non-Canadian foreign coins in the same roll prior to today!
