Quote: In any event, I'm still relatively new to CRHing so here's some stuff I have just put aside because it looked different, and was wondering if any of this junk is actually anything.
The coins with the funny rims are what we call " Dryer Coins", i.e. they spent a lot of time in a dryer. They are damaged, toss 'em back.

Quote: Found these two in a box the last couple of days. Oldest coin found yet. Nice finds! The first 1909 is always a thrill!

Worst box I've ever had today. found a wheat in the first 3 rolls so it started pretty good. then I didnt find another till 1 in the 4rth to the last roll and then one in the last roll. 1 1954 s 1 1947 s 1 1946 d 1 1939 p 1 1938 p i did find about 10 absolutely stunning 60's and 70's that took away a little of the sting. last fridays box was nice though, 15 wheats. with a 1919 d(completing my 1919's, I've already found the s and p 1919 penny) and 1926 p and 1929 p being the oldest) oh well. i'll just have to make up for it with 2 boxes tommorow. such is life.

The coins with the rims - put them in Hydrochloric acid. This will dissolve the zince and leave the coin hollow. In this case, you'll get a Rim and 2 faces out of it. You can see concave Lincoln.

Along with (5) '98 WAM's in the last 3 weeks, another 1999 came out of a CRW. Now in DOUBLE DIGITS.

I'd call this 1959-D a BU. Opinions?

Went to the bank today for five rolls of pennies and just getting started. Off to a good start. The third penny in is a 1971-S and when I was picking up the rolls there was a 1968-D Kennedy that someone cashed in earlier today that the teller let me have!
