Cool Lincoln Roll Finds (From Bank Rolls) - Post Yours!

Great box here! 28 wheats, including BU 1946 and 1957-D. There was also a 1936 and 1951-S with luster, but mostly 40s and 50s P and Ds from basal to AU.

The three coins on the bottom of the pic arr 1957 and 1958 Canadians and a 1989 zincoln with florescent blueish purple paint. I usually don't keep PMDs but this one really stood out.

is it worth keeping the 82 and older for the copper value like do you think they will ever let you melt them down?

I keep ALL my copper. Isn't that what they invented the 5 gallon pail?

Lowest # of wheats in 16 boxes at 11. Nothing older than the 40's

My first proof cent- 1987S. No scratches, which is nice.

Two nice die cracks that go halfway across the coin.
One nice die clash with marks on the obv and rev.

No gem 80's or 90's worth saving? Honestly, I've never had a box where I didn't find at least a couple keepers. A complete skunk box is pretty rare for me. Make sure you're not passing anything good by!

Which dates do you check?
I have pulled a lot of dates with known errors but I may be wasting my time. These are the dates:

I really don't want to even be searching them if there are only a couple error coins known. Anyones feedback is greatly appreciated.

Badthad: I was so upset with the fact that this entire box was basically all discards from another hunter. I didn't have the heart to search it closely after that.

I did however have the heart to go back to my pile of pennies that I previously only searched for wheats. I have told myself I am not allowed to get more boxes until I dump the 10 or so I already have.

While going back through the other pennies, I have found some interesting things. I am new to this keep in mind. My other challenge is that I don't have a car, so I hike my pickups and dumps to and from the bank. I have expanded my dump walks this week and now have 5 places to dump. I should be getting more boxes much sooner now.

With all of that said, I believe I found my first 2 'woodies'. Is this caused by coins laying against a natural wood grain? Or something else?

Looking for WAMs too, but no luck yet.

I believe I also may have found my first capped die strikethrough. I will try to get pics of this one.

Also, my "already searched" pile is producing tons of BU coins from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's. Very strange. I am separating them out, and upgrading coins in my 41-75 lincoln book. From that book, I am only missing 1949s. I have had that book since I was a kid, and most of it came from roll hunting.

Also today should arrive my penny book to cover 76 to now, so that will be fun to fill up also :-)

Found these beauties in a single roll today. Anyone have any suggestions about grades? Still learning the ropes. Regardless, a pretty good deal for one roll's worth!
