Searched 10 rolls last night- no wheats, but 30 uncirculated looking 1973's and 74's in the first roll! And 69, 74 S. Happy Hunting!

I'm going through around $30 of pure copper I picked up a few months back. Several AU/Unc coins in the lot, many with nearly perfect luster. What's interesting are some of the brown LMCs I'm looking at - sharp details and near flawless fields. I find that some of these specimens are really attractive in that state.
Reason for doing the old lot: new lot was solid 2014s (LOL). Things happen in threes so they say, so I'm thinking that now the CRH family here should be good for a few months getting old coin from the banks. Happy hunting folks!

they should really stop producing so many new pennies. Heck I got a box of solid 2013 over the summer! I guess they can't get rid of them fast enough. Last box had 16 wheats, including a nice pair of 1937s in great shape

CLS - nice to fill a spot! I haven't found a Canadian cent from the 50s in a long while. Nice finds!

Fixed it.
The have to make so many because most are used one time and then discarded. I agree, the zincolns are pretty useless, but you do realize that if they do away with the cent, there will no longer be a need for them in general commerce. Thus,the banks will no longer order boxes for businesses or customers. And if they do that, all these cent searchers, myself included, will be pretty much out of luck. |

Well, yes, of course ceasing production will kill them from circulation. That is a given! The fun can end at any time, so enjoy it while you can!  |

Searched a $50 bag of cents as my bank had no dimes this week. Pulled out $14.52 in copper cents and 12 Canadian cents including a 2004 that I could use. Only found 11 wheat cents with the oldest being 1929. What I thought was odd was I only found three of the 2009 Lincoln cents, two of them were in nice shape and one was all ready a disaster.

Hi Dave - the % of copper seems about right but the LWC/Foreign/2009 yields are on the low side of average (solely based on my averages). The '29 is a nice find though. And it is amazing how few decent 2009s there are out there to be had just 5 years later. Many of the 2009s I see are nasty looking. They remain in circulation. Good luck on the hunt!

Just had my best box yet!!
-FIVE indian head cents- 1893, 1905, 1906 x2 and 1909!
-19 wheats- 2 from the 50's, 2 from 40's, 2 from 20's (25, 29) and 13 from the 30's!! (mostly 38's and 37's)
Most impresses with the 1909! all of these finds were in 5 rolls. 6 wheats were in one roll. What you guys think?
