Hey, I finally got an account with the only bank in my area that will let me CRH, and I'm probably going to end up with a couple boxes of cents here soon. Does anyone actually keep copper?

I see some folks really find the 2009s. I average around 5 a box and few are AU/BU.

Are the 2009 considered rare finds? I have a sandwich full of them.

Hi HT - 2009 were minted in large numbers, but each of the 4 RDVs knock down the individual types to smaller numbers relative to the mintages of cents in preceding and subsequent years. Because of the interest in a centennial coin, folks hoarded these coins in large quantities. Similar to other year/denominations where the mintages were lower (than average), collectors and non-collectors put many of these aside in high grade. So while these coins should be really common, they are made less so.
I set aside the best-of-the-best I come across and the DDRs I find for this date. Otherwise, I return them to circulation.
