243 coppers this time, pretty high rate. Several blazingly new looking 70-79's and a gorgeous BU 68 (birth year). So nearly a 25% rate in this batch.

Forgot to mention - a few 70 S mints - no other S mints though.
Are older pennies with toning of any value? I pulled a nearly BU 1986 with rainbow type toning.....set it to the side just cause it caught my eye.
I have a stack of 54 1998-2000's to search for WAMs later today, still in search of my first.
About 20% copper rate is normal, that's much better! I save all the very nice toners I find. I don't care what the year is. If it's exceptional, I have tubes just for those. It has to be pretty nice for me to save it though. I may save one out of every 5000 coins I look thru. |

BadThad - great toner - and the 86 I found is very similar. The toning is really eye catching. I need to work on photo skills, because I suck at photos and have several coins I'd like to post photos of.

so my dismal cent box that only yielded 8 wheats, had 418 coppers. still not sure what to do with them, roll em up and save em or put em back out into the wild...is there a market on ebay or anywhere for rolls of coppers? |

Jedi - there is another thread on here about copper rolls, it shows a few ebay auctions for copper bullion (rolls of pennies) where the profit margin is pretty decent. You won't become a millionaire, but profit is profit, especially since it seems you have no desire to hoard them away waiting for the price to double. |

More proof that you never know what you'll find. Nothing tremendously valuable, but these 10 rolls were a 180 degree opposite of the 10 I posted about a couple of days ago.
10 rolls, 500 pennies. Copper content - 447, including 17 Wheats!
1 roll had a 1966 Canadian on one end and a 1952 Wheat on the other.
Other Wheat dates: 29D, 35, 42, 44D(2), 45, 51(BU), 51D, 52D, 55D, 56D(2), 57(2), 57D(2) and 58.
4 Canadians, 66, 75, 81 & 91.
The 51 is the best looking Wheat I've ever pulled, by far. Looks like brand new copper water pipe, deep copper shine & luster. Almost looks fake.
Quick story related to purchase of these rolls. When I asked the teller if I could just pick up $5 in pennies, one of the other tellers said she had some, but was holding them. The manager overheard her and said, we don't hold. If someone wants to buy them, you sell them. She was clearly upset and even argued a little with the manager. Its my guess that she'd set aside these clearly copper and older rolls intentionally. The vault girl was at lunch, or they'd have gotten them from the vault. I guess I got lucky.

thats a nice 51 had a crazy amount of USA in my rolls, also had 20 USA nickels in one roll which I will soon post in the nickel thread: 20 Canadian Rolls Pennies 129 USA (1 LWC 1943 Steel, 7 2009D Lincolns (5 log cabin, 1 presidency, 1 early years) 1 Bahamas 2006 roll of 50 USA from grandma 1 LWC 1948D |

I went through 10 rolls today. 21 2009's (mostly LP1 and LP2's. No LP4's). I still have not found an LP4 in the wild. For that matter, I still have not found an IHC either! Some of you guys seem to pull them on a regular basis. I did also find a 1959-D that is near BU. |

Don't bother with acetone, go with water first and then xylene.

10 more rolls last night.
162 Coppers, only two wheats - 35 and 57D.
3 Canadians, 66, 79, 98.
3 S mints - 68, 71 and 74.
I have another 20 to do later today.......
