Congrats on the Indian Head! They are a tough find roll hunting.

I finished the box; my best one by far. It consisted of plastic MWRs. The best coins were the three IHCs: 1900, 1904, and 1906. There were ten LWCs, all common ones except for one: 1928-D (a hole-filler for me!). It has been a good day!   |

Not as good as 3 IHC in one box (congrats @aristarchus123  ) but here are pictures of the rolls I mentioned yesterday. Apparently I cant count... and neither can the person who rolled roll #1  Roll#1 (all 55c):   The good stuff from roll #2:   My coin photography skills still need some work  Edited by bd251

3 Indians in one box, aristarchus123? That is awesome! Well, I know where I would be right now if I were in your shoes... I've had such bad luck with boxes in general lately... it's good to see some nice finds coming out of them again!

Nice finds Aristarchus123, very lucky too! I've only found one indian head and it was a 1900. |

Excellent finds aristarchus123! John77, I'm having bad luck also. My last boxes have been disappointments. Except for a well worn 1909 in one box and a small date 1960 in another, it's been dismal. I didn't post population results because they were bland. I found a novelty, 1984-P with an outline of the state of Montana and the letters MT inside the outline! lol I've increased my copper hoard, added a few LWC, and a few Canadian Cents. It's time to find another source of penny boxes. |

You think that's strange ive been through 100-200 thousand and have yet to find a 1957P or 1958P It's funny how that goes... a lot of it has to do with location. Out on the West coast, it's pretty easy to find the S-mints, but hard to find the Ps... Though I must say the 48-S is a pretty tough coin - even out here. Only the 55-S and 49-S are harder among the post-1939 S-mint coins for me. For East coasters, just the opposite is true. For example, it took me FOREVER to find a 1954 Philly - I never found one in my regular searching growing up, and didn't find any my first 8 months of CRH, but in the past 4 1/2 months, I've found 3! It also took me 9 months to find the very common 1939 Philly... Quote:

Aristarchus123, I'm at 5 V nickels for the year... the 4 I found in my mini hoard (which also had 30 Buffalos) and one in a String&Son roll a few weeks later. And for today, I just finished up 4,450 cents (3,300 CWR, 1,150 MWR) I bought in a neighboring city this past Tuesday... I found only 7 pre-1959 coins  ... but one of them was a 1892 Indian!  I also found this very odd 2000 Philly cent. At first I thought it was a proof, but it appears to be just proof-like coin. It's as reflective as many of my proof cents.
