i always thought it was bad etiquette to return a box you got for more from the same bank?

at least when I was getting into roll hunting, there was a thread that posted "rules" of coin hunting.

but maybe I will give that a try.

so your saying, buy a box of whatever, cents, dimes, nicks, and just return that box for another one at the same bank?

i just dont want to piss any one off

Afc / Matt,

Don't get me wrong but it's sad state of affairs with the copper going missing when you know that billions were coined. Makes you wonder how FAST it's being pulled / hoarded.

Peace

SDcoinguy, in my opinion it's only bad etiquette if the bank has a problem with it. I've actually had a couple of vault managers request that I "trade" them box for box. This way, they know they won't run out of cents for their merchant tellers. Check with the vault mgr, and find out if that's doable. The only downside with this method though is that there will be times when the bank won't have any bank boxes because of the rolls you've already searched haven't been given out.

It still doesn't help you with having to reroll them though. I'm still a bit shocked that b of a is charging you per bag. Is this standard policy with all the b of a's there?

ianmprice,
The 1989 is caused by the flow of copper (cold flow) away from the devise creating the image of a second devise. If it gets thin enough it breaks and exposed the zinc underneath. You see this on the "D". On the other two, it appears that it is just a misaligned die. Are the reverses normal? If so, that is what it is. To hold any value, they would have to be off enough that they start to effect the devised on the thin side. Not so on these. Jim

I recently bought some rolls from my credit union to browse thru and found a lot of 1943 steels... I hope someone didnt trade in their relatives collection but that is what I think happened.

I'd be dancing too, 2020. What grade would you give the 1911.
Great finds, Jim

my copper rates roll searching have been sub-par, comparing to some of you. I have been getting 500 or so coppers out of my boxes. takes me a week or so of steady hunting to get a box ready to sell.

i just sold a box+1 extra roll, only sold for $38 =(

i had one sell 3 weeks ago for $71. but that had a few wheat rolls included. anyway, kinda disappointed I didn't even get close to spot copper...
