Lincoln Memorial is in pretty rough shape! The only thing I can come up with is polished die. It was a fun coin to find!
Any other ideas?

Sever die polishing with what looks like a wire brush. Why do I say that? Note directions of the strongest affected areas? They are all on the strongest clash mark areas. Vertical lines on the bust outlines at the top. Horizontal lines where the top of head clash lines would appear. That is what I'm seeing on this coin.
