I found this quarter in my coin jar this morning, tried to put in Washington machine but would not go in. I looked at it, knurled edge is missing and edge is tapered a bit a fractions smaller in circumference. Is this an error coin or possibly a coin someone goofed up

How ironic. The physical characteristics of your coin are most often associated with ' Dryer Coins'.

It is a Dryer Coin. The rims have been flatted and now are too large to fit into the vending machines.
