As with so many of these cast fakes, the coins are dark gray with granular surfaces and soft design details. Pretty easy to spot in a photo, but impossible to miss in hand as these weigh: 1857 4.64g, 1859 4.46g and 1875 4.40g. Coins are non-magnetic and non-silver.

Those coins look so neglected and worn. Why would someone make fake ones like that?

If you are trying to pass something off in circulation, you don't want it to draw attention. Many counterfeits were made to look worn to be easier to pass off. I can't say that's why in this case, but it is a common to find fakes made to look well worn.
