1980 Cent, Partial Brockage But Possibly Double Struck. Please See It.

yontan Valued Member United States 292 Posts	Posted 11/28/2020 9:25 pm I recently purchased a 1980 cent that was sold as a coin that had an indent. However, it has (somewhat) identifiable lettering within the indent. I just can't figure out if the letters are from the reverse die, from a cent already struck, or from something else. If you turn it a little, the backward image seems to show just the edge of the o , then the N in reverse, and the next straight line looks like the spine of the E, with parallel lines from it, especially on the final picture. Without more info, I will assume it is indeed part of the reverse of another cent, specifically a portion of the ONE, and you were right, Mike, about the partial collar.
