It's certainly going to take me a bit to be able to get a hang of these.

But I believe you can see the splits on the bottom of the L and U. The bottom of the first E is also thicker than normal.

I don't think anyone can say definitively whether it is a DDR and, if so, which one.

The problem with these old Philadelphia LWCs is that unless the doubling is quite thick [class vi] or the splits are obvious [classes ii and iv] it is nearly impossible to prove that it is a DDR and any markers that might have been listed are long gone with wear. Also without a MM as a marker you are dead in the water.

I am not seeing anything that would indicate a DDR but, since you have it in hand you may see much more that is there and not showing up in the pics.

If it were me, I wouldn't spend much time on it. If you feel strongly about it then set it aside and come back to it later.

Good luck.

I was going to mention that also. The coin wear may have flattened/altered the coin enough to make the devices appear to be something going on. But the dots/die wear are not indicating this as DDR. So I'm not in the DDR camp on this one.

Thank you all for your responses.

And CentSation, thanks for the explanation, I'll keep that in mind for future LWC searches.
