I once read somewhere that this fabrication came as a prize in a serial box back in the late 50s / early 60s. Used to run into them in junk lots frequently when I was dealing in Canada.

You are correct. This set was available from General Mills through their promotion with Cheerios cereal. Late 1950s, all you need was pocket change and some box tops from the cereal package. My set.

Quote from Ronnie Remonda, Confederate Currency specialist, "Cheerios Premium money was issued in 1954. For 25 cents and a Cheerios box top you received nine notes and an album. Cheerios is probably the best of all the older reproductions. Cheerios claims to have issued more Confederate currency than the Confederacy."

Cheerios should do Zimbabwean dollars.

It would be a REAL challenge for them to beat the Zimbabwe government.
