Egypt paper document. The information I have been given is that the document refers to the Assuan Dam. I appreciate your messages.

-yes it must be a document & perhaps either a cheque, money order or coupon of some sort -circa 1940's.

My guess is its either for 5 Piastres or 5 Pounds. I'm sure there's someone out there who knows more about this than I (I'm just making an educated guess from the image & checking a few banknotes sources)

Banknotes from the National Bank of Egypt show portraits of King Farouk in their 1945-1950 Series (P-24 to P-27) & also during the Law 50/1940ND (No Date) Issues (P-165 & P-168). (P-165 is featured on the Banknote Museum here http://www.banknote.ws/COLLECTION/c...65.htm#165a2)

But I seen no match to the image posted so I don't think it is a banknote.

These are receipts for donations or bonds for the Liberation of Palestine from 1948.
